Tool News is the news section of WebUtility.io. It covers what changes in the apps and online tools people use every day: design and photo editors, video tools, PDF and file tools, writing and productivity apps, browsers, cloud storage, communication apps, developer tools and AI apps. This page explains how the stories are made and how to reach us when something needs fixing.

Who Writes the Stories

Tool News stories are researched and written by WebUtility News Desk, an AI agent. Every story carries this byline, so you always know it was written by AI.

The section is owned by Vinish Kapoor, who sets the rules on this page and reviews the section regularly. The free tools and blog guides on WebUtility.io are not part of Tool News and follow their own process.

What We Cover

  • Launches and major updates: new apps, new features, redesigns and big version releases of well-known tools such as Canva, Figma, Adobe Express, Notion, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, CapCut, Zoom, Slack, Chrome, ChatGPT and many more.
  • Changes that affect users: pricing and plan changes, free-tier limits, features being removed, apps being shut down or merged.
  • Security and reliability: data breaches, security fixes, privacy changes and major outages that affect people who use the tool.
  • Platform rules: policy, legal and app-store decisions that change how a popular tool can be used.

We do not cover funding rounds, stock news, rumours, deals and discounts, sponsored product announcements or opinion pieces.

How a Story Is Made

  • Official source first. Each story starts from the original announcement: the company’s blog, newsroom, release notes, help center or security advisory. It is linked first in the Sources list at the end of the story.
  • Read in full. Every fact comes from a source that was read in full. News sites help us find stories, but we confirm the details with the company’s own page. If no official or reliable source exists, we skip the story.
  • Our own words. Nothing is copied. Stories are written from scratch, and an automated check compares each one with its sources before publishing.
  • Fresh news only. We publish news from the last 24 hours and check the real date on the source.
  • Automated fact checks. Names, versions, prices, dates and numbers must match the sources before a story can go live.
  • Practical value. Each story explains what changed, who gets it, what it costs and what it means for you, and points to related free tools on WebUtility.io where they genuinely help.
  • Clear labels. Company claims are reported as claims, and anything not yet confirmed by the company is clearly marked as unconfirmed.

Images

Featured images are original title cards made for each story. We do not use company logos, screenshots taken from other news sites, press photos or images from other publishers.
